The brief
The owner had a written manifesto and real photographs, and wanted a site that felt like the brand, not a template.
The constraint
About 9 in 10 visitors are Nigerian, mostly on mid-range Android phones paying for every megabyte. Heavy 3D would cost them money before it impressed them.
What we decided
Speed first
Static HTML, CSS and plain JavaScript, no framework, and a first screen under 60 KB.
Real photos
Carefully compressed, with no AI-generated people or garments.
A voice that sounds like Lagos
About 70% English and 30% Pidgin, held together by a style guide.
A conversation instead of a form
“The Fitting Room” asks a few questions and opens WhatsApp with a ready-written message.
The outcome
Live at thetailor.store, deploying from GitHub to Cloudflare Pages on every push.
