The brief
MSS turned twenty and wanted the anniversary to show what its screens can do. The venue had a 63-metre perimeter ribbon (63 m × 0.5 m), a peanut-shaped screen room, a main hall array and ceiling strips. Leadership had to approve every design before anything was rendered for the show.
The constraint
38 screens with different shapes and resolutions, about 25.4 million pixels, one approval chain, a fixed date. Every animation had to loop cleanly in under a minute.
What we decided
One model of the whole room
A Three.js previz rendered all 38 screens in place at real pixel sizes.
Five styles, swapped live
Style tabs and swappable logo and watermark layers, so decision-makers compared directions in one sitting.
Mapping that matches the show
Fill, Fit and Stretch modes behave the way Resolume does on the night.
A clean render chain
HEVC previews for approval, then ProRes masters of the approved designs, then DXV through Resolume Alley for playback.
The outcome
The graphics approved in the previz are the graphics that ran on the night.
